Taylor Power Systems is a family-owned generator manufacturer based in Clinton, Mississippi, building equipment since 1986. The company designs and assembles diesel and natural gas generators for both standby and prime power, which means the same brand covers a permanent hospital backup unit and a trailer-mounted rig running an oilfield site. The Taylor and Perkins Partnership

Taylor has worked with Perkins as its primary engine partner since the company started, and that relationship shows up throughout the lineup. Most Taylor diesel units we have stocked run Perkins engines, from the 200 kW trailer-mounted TMC200 up through 300 kW standby sets. Taylor and Perkins also co-developed a 1 MW inline generator, the TD1000P. That consistency matters for ownership. Perkins is a Caterpillar company with broad parts and service coverage, so a Taylor generator with a Perkins engine is straightforward to maintain regardless of where it ends up. Larger Taylor units may use other engines, such as the Mitsubishi in the TD1600, and Taylor’s natural gas line uses PSI and Doosan engines.

TD series: standby diesel
