Broadcrown Generator Manufacturer Overview

Broadcrown is a British generator manufacturer founded in 1976, with assembly and test facilities in Staffordshire, England and Newtown, Wales. The company built diesel generators and complete power systems across a wide range, from small units up to multi-megawatt installations. In 2015, JCB’s power products division acquired Broadcrown and continued selling its generators under the Broadcrown name. A Broadcrown unit performs like any other well-built diesel generator, but ownership in the US works a little differently than with a domestic brand. Because Broadcrown’s own dealer network has been centered outside North America, the engine inside the generator becomes the primary support path. That is good news for the units we stock. Deep Sea controllers are also widely supported. Generator-specific items such as enclosure panels or alternator components may take more sourcing effort, so factor that into your maintenance planning. • Frequency and voltage. Broadcrown built for global markets, so verify the unit is configured for 60 Hz and your site voltage.
• Emissions tier. Tier 2 and Tier 3 engines face different rules depending on location and whether the unit runs standby or mobile duty.
• Configuration. Confirm whether the unit is trailer-mounted or stationary, since that affects installation and permitting.
